customer and handle imports and exports. Key responsibilities Forecasting and Planning:
o Estimating the demand for materials and products and planning the
imports & local suppliers' activities accordingly.
o Analyse historical data and supplier performance market trends to predict future material requirements.
o Use statistical tools and software for accurate forecasting.
Supplier Coordination:
o Communicating with overseas suppliers to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement of goods.
o Maintain a database of supplier information and performance metrics.
Supplier Liaison
o Manage relationship with suppliers to negotiate optimal terms of service
and ensure timely delivery of materials Material flow tracking:
o Use SAP MRP for planning, ordering and to accurately track material flow
and maintain optimal stock levels
Material storage coordination:
o Coordinate with warehouse staff to ensure proper storage and protection
of materials Supply chain trouble shooting
o Identify and resolve discrepancies between inventory records and stock
levels and trouble shoot supply chain issues related to materials Reporting:o Prepare and present detailed reports on material and inventory
management stock levels and adjustments Order Management:
o Place orders based on the production schedule and inventory needs.
o Track order status and communicate any changes or delays to relevant
departments.
Inventory Control:
o Implement inventory tracking systems to monitor stock levels in real-time.
o Conduct regular inventory audits to ensure accuracy.
o Develop strategies to reduce excess inventory and improve turnover rates
Compliance and Documentation:
o Stay updated with changes in import regulations and trade agreements.
o Prepare and verify import documentation such as bills of lading, invoices,
and certificates of origin.
o Coordinate with customs agents to ensure proper classification and
valuation of goods.
Logistics and Shipping:
o Schedule shipments and select optimal transportation methods.
o Monitor in-transit goods and update internal systems with estimated arrival
times.
o Resolve any shipping issues that may arise, such as delays or damages.
Cost Analysis and Budgeting:
o Monitor and report on import-related expenses.
o Identify cost-saving opportunities in the import process.
o Prepare budgets for the import department and track expenditures against
forecasts.
Risk Assessment:
o Identify potential risks in the supply chain, such as supplier instability or
political unrest in source countries.
o Develop contingency plans to address these risks.
Process Improvement:
o Analyze the efficiency of current import processes.
o Propose and implement improvements to reduce lead times and costs.
o Stay informed about industry best practices and technological
advancements.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
o Work closely with other departments such as procurement, finance, and
sales to align import activities with overall business objectives.
o Participate in cross-departmental meetings to discuss supply chain issues
and initiatives.
Training and Development:
o Train new team members on import procedures and systems.
o Attend workshops and seminars to enhance professional skills and

Continuous Improvement: Reviewing import processes regularly to

Should be competent in ISO 50001:2011 requirements for establishing, implementing,

efficiency, energy use and consumption What we're looking for Bachelor / Master's degree in Mechanical / Electrical / Material Management / Finance
/ Inventory Management / SCM / Logistics with 5 - 7 years of experience in automotive
based manufacturing environment.
