Software Engineer II - Full Stack, Frontend Heavy
Role Summary Booking Holdings is the world leader in online travel and related services. Within Booking.com's Ground Transportation vertical, the Cars domain owns important supply-side and booking journeys. The Cars Supply Enablement team is executing a large-scale migration from the old fleet system to a new fleet platform - covering data pipelines, APIs, UI development, and consumer integrations. This playbook is for a Software Engineer II Full Stack (Frontend Heavy) role on the team. The engineer will own the New Fleet UI and its integration with backend APIs, with the ability to contribute to REST API development when needed. The role should be calibrated SE-2: the engineer is expected to independently own medium-sized features end-to-end across the frontend and integration layers, unblock themselves, design complete UI and API integration flows with trade-offs in mind.
A strong SE II Full Stack (Frontend Heavy) candidate for Cars Supply Enablement should demonstrate:
● Solid frontend implementation skills in React and TypeScript, with strong component design, state management, and UI/UX fundamentals.
● Practical full-stack ability to build and integrate REST APIs (Java experience is a plus), including CRUD operations and error handling.
● Ability to own medium-complexity UI features or integration work from design through rollout and operations.
● Understanding of feature flags, and gradual rollout when connecting new UI to evolving backend systems.
● Good testing judgment across unit, integration, and end-to-end levels for both frontend and API layers.
● Readiness to work across teams and communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders (commercial team, supply data, integration consumers).
