Job Summary: The Senior Technician is a crucial role responsible for advanced diagnostics, complex repairs, and maintenance of our fleet of LNG and EV heavy commercial trucks. This position requires a strong technical background, a deep understanding of heavy-duty vehicle systems, and the ability to mentor and guide junior team members. The ideal candidate will be a problem-solver who can work independently and ensure the highest standards of safety and quality are met.
Key Responsibilities:
- Advanced Diagnostics & Repair:
- Perform complex troubleshooting and diagnostics on mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems of LNG and EV trucks, including high-voltage systems, battery management systems (BMS), fuel systems, and powertrains.
- Utilize advanced diagnostic tools, software, and schematics to identify and resolve complex vehicle issues.
- Lead and execute major repairs, including engine overhauls, component replacements, and system recalibrations.
- Maintenance & Operations:
- Conduct preventive maintenance, inspections, and safety checks on all vehicles as per company standards and service schedules.
- Ensure all maintenance and repair activities adhere to safety protocols, including those specific to high-voltage and cryogenic systems.
- Maintain detailed and accurate records of all service activities, including diagnostics, repairs, parts used, and labor hours.
- Leadership & Mentoring:
- Act as a technical expert and mentor for Junior Technicians, providing guidance and on-the-job training.
- Collaborate with the Service Center Manager and other team members to optimize workflow and improve service efficiency.
- Assist in training new technicians on the unique technologies of LNG and EV trucks.
- Quality & Safety:
- Ensure all work is performed to the highest quality standards, minimizing downtime and maximizing vehicle performance and reliability.
- Promote and enforce a culture of safety in the service center, strictly following all company and regulatory safety guidelines.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- Education: ITI certification in relevant trades such as Diesel Mechanic, Motor Vehicle Mechanic (MMV), Electrician, or other trades related to heavy commercial vehicles.
- Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of hands-on experience in the maintenance and repair of heavy commercial trucks.
- Technical Proficiency:
- Proven experience with EV and/or LNG technologies, including high-voltage systems and cryogenic fuel handling, is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems in commercial vehicles.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic software and tools.
- Core Competencies:
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead and work effectively in a team.
- Licensing: Valid heavy-duty vehicle driver's license (or willingness to obtain one).
