Role Overview:
We are seeking a seasoned Technical Director to lead a large-scale engineering organization comprising 300+ professionals, including Full Stack Developers, Data Engineers, UX Specialists, Mobile Developers, Architects, and QA Engineers. This strategic leadership role involves driving innovation and delivery across Application Development, Data Modernization, and AI technologies (including Generative AI and Business Intelligence).
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic & Technical Leadership
Provide strategic direction and thought leadership in application and data modernization, AI, and BI solutions.
Lead cross-functional teams in delivering high-impact software products and services for clients across the U.S. and U.K.
Drive the development of new services, competencies, and offerings in cloud-native app development, data transformation, and AI engineering.
Stay ahead of technology trends and guide teams on modern technologies like Java, Spring, Python, Azure, AWS, GCP, Kafka, Flutter, React, Angular, and Vue.
Team Development & People Leadership
Mentor and coach team members, fostering a high-performance culture.
Hire, onboard, and nurture top engineering talent to meet market and project demands.
Support team productivity, learning plans, and skill development across levels.
Drive a culture of innovation, inclusiveness, and continuous improvement.
Project & Delivery Oversight
Oversee delivery of maintainable, scalable, and high-quality code adhering to best practices.
Collaborate with Technical Delivery Managers and Solution Architects on architecture, design, and delivery standards.
Act as a senior escalation point and solution owner for complex engagements.
Maintain readiness for customer engagement delivery across projects and regions.
Skills & Experience:
15+ years of relevant experience in IT, with proven expertise in leading engineering and delivery teams.
Experience in Professional Services/Consulting is preferred.
Strong background in backend development (Java, microservices) and experience in other programming languages like Python, C#, PHP, or Ruby.
Proficiency in front-end frameworks such as React, Angular 8+, and Vue.js.
Solid understanding of OOP, SOLID principles, design patterns, and asynchronous programming.
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and modern DevOps tools (GitHub, CI/CD, Linters).
Exposure to Data Engineering (ETL, data warehousing, big data architecture) is essential.
Familiarity with Agile methodologies and strong stakeholder management skills.
