trainee mechanical engineer

Key Responsibilities:

1. Engineering Maintenance Activities

• Assist in daily execution and troubleshooting of mechanical maintenance tasks as per plan.

• Support planning and execution of calibrations for mechanical instruments and equipment.

• Prepare and maintain reports including maintenance job registers, equipment history cards, and breakdown analysis.

• Support the execution and tracking of SAMACO and PM plans against actual performance.

• Create reservations for daily material requirements based on engineers' requisitions.

2. SAP PM Module

• Support in executing PM and SAMACO activities as per schedule in SAP.

• Assist in tracking CMA & CAR project statistics and generating related reports.

3. Safety and Compliance

• Support the team in zone safety performance reviews and identifying gaps as per ZSP meeting action plans.

• Assist in the execution of tasks identified in PRA, EHWA, Safety Walks, and Incident CAPAs.

• Ensure work permit adherence for safe execution of maintenance tasks.

• Follow plant safety instructions and training to help ensure a zero-incident workplace.

4. Inventory Management

• Assist in identifying and listing required mechanical spares.

• Ensure accurate posting of reservations and withdrawals of materials from stores.

5. Blue Print (BP-9) Implementation

• Support the implementation of blueprint recommendations.

• Track and monitor KPIs as assigned by the maintenance manager.

• Identify and implement Kaizens (continuous improvement initiatives) and document them.

• Contribute to 5S sustainability activities on the shop floor.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Diploma / Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.

• Basic understanding of mechanical equipment and maintenance procedures.

• Familiarity with SAP PM or willingness to learn.

• Strong safety awareness and willingness to follow compliance protocols.

• Good communication and teamwork skills.

• Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
