- Pre-operative evaluation: Review medical history, current medications, and allergies to assess risk.
- Anesthesia planning: Choose the right type of anesthesia (general, regional, or local) for the patient.
- Intraoperative monitoring: Track vital signs like heart rate and blood pressure during surgery and adjust medication doses.
- Post-operative care: Oversee patient recovery, manage pain relief, and treat any complications.
- Emergency response: Act quickly during medical emergencies in the operating room or intensive care unit. Qualifications and Education
Medical degree: MD, or DNB degree from an accredited medical school.
- Specialized training: Complete an internship and a residency program in anesthesiology.
- Licensing: Hold a valid state or national medical council registration.
