The Junior Manager/Assistant Manager will be responsible for overseeing the daily production activities of the heavy fabrication shop, ensuring targets are met efficiently, safely, and in compliance with high-quality standards. This role requires a strong technical background and extensive experience in managing large-scale fabrication processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Production & Planning: Manage the complete heavy fabrication cycle, including material preparation, cutting, fitting, welding, and assembly of complex heavy engineering components.
- Operational Excellence: Drive daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules to ensure timely delivery and optimal utilization of resources and machinery.
- Quality Control: Oversee in-process and final inspections to ensure all fabricated products meet drawing specifications and stringent quality standards.
- Welding Expertise: Ensure compliance with all required welding procedures (WPS) and standards for heavy structural fabrication.
- Team Management: Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of fabrication engineers, foremen, and technicians to maintain productivity and foster a highly skilled workforce.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance process efficiency, reduce rework, and minimize scrap costs.
- Safety & Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to all safety protocols and regulatory compliance within the heavy fabrication environment.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Experience: 10 to 15 years of proven, relevant experience in a Heavy Fabrication Production Background.

- Industry Preference: Experience managing heavy fabrication for industries such as power, heavy machinery, automotive, or engineering (
- Technical Skills: Deep knowledge of various welding techniques, blueprint reading, non-destructive testing (NDT) standards, and precision fabrication techniques.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Mechanical/Production Engineering or a related technical field is preferred.
