Responsibilities:You will be the voice of our organization, working closely with our leadership and partners to ensure our messaging is consistent, compelling, and impactful. Your day-to-day will involve:
Media Outreach, PR & Content
- Support our media outreach efforts by drafting press notes, story pitches, and media updates.
- Coordinate with PR agencies and media partners to ensure smooth execution of media plans.
- Manage and update journalist databases and media lists to track engagement.
- Assist in preparing talking points, Q&As, and briefing notes for organizational spokespeople.
- Monitor, document, and report on media coverage across print, digital, and social channels.
- Coordinate press briefings, interviews, and media events, ensuring alignment with brand guidelines.
Content & Social Media Support
- Create, edit, and publish content for social media, our website, newsletters, and internal collateral.
- Manage social media calendars, scheduling posts, and overseeing community engagement.
- Keep our digital presence updated with fresh content and insights.
- Research socio-economic issues, public policy, and sustainability to inform high-quality content creation.
- Document key takeaways from events and conferences for both internal and external audiences.
Coordination, Monitoring & Administration
- Act as a liaison with external vendors (design, web, PR) to manage timelines and deliverables.
- Support administrative tasks, including vendor invoicing and contract coordination.
- Track performance metrics and assist in preparing detailed engagement and reach reports.
- Maintain organized repositories for communication assets, dashboards, and project documentation.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or Public Relations.
- 2-8 years of relevant experience in communications, PR, media relations, or content roles (in-house, agency, or nonprofit).
- Exceptional writing and editing skills with the ability to adapt your tone for various audiences.
- Solid understanding of PR workflows, media relations, and modern social media platforms.
- Excellent research and organizational skills, with a meticulous eye for detail.
- Demonstrated proficiency in using AI tools to streamline and enhance communication workflows.
