They review and approve detections, tuning requests, and automation changes for production, mentor engineers, and manage sprints/backlogs. The senior detection engineer is accountable for the technical integrity of detections into production, ensuring all development of code, testing, validation, and documentation is fit for purpose for operational teams.</p><p> </p><p> Duties & Responsibilities  </p><p> </p><p>•    Support and mentor peers in detection engineering concepts to build a culture of learning within the team.   <br />•    Take ownership of assigned detection engineering work, demonstrating accountability for technical quality, testing, and documentation.<br />•    Demonstrate critical thinking, structured problem solving, and focus on outcomes. <br />•    Embed a threat led mindset in all detection development activities and challenge if something doesn’t align. <br />•    Maintain a growth mindset which encourages continuous learning and uplift across the Cyber team.</p><p>•    Deliver end-to-end detections through approved CI/CD workflows and detection engineering pipelines. <br />•    Review and technically approve detection rules to ensure documentation, logic, and testing meet defined engineering standards.<br />•    Assess detection backlog priority according to the defined priority framework to ensure all high detection requests are implemented promptly with no false positive impact in the queue. <br />•    Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives including documentation refinement, optimizing current workflows, and aligning to new engineering standards.<br />•    Maintain a tidy code repository to support software engineering best practices using CI/CD pipelines. <br />•    Conduct continuous validation and testing of detections against known malicious behaviours.</p><p>•    Review and approve all detection, automation, and log changes before production deployment, ensuring quality, safety, and operational alignment. <br />•    Provides technical approval and quality assurance for detections prior to production, with final production readiness owned by the Lead Detection Engineer.<br />•    Refine and optimise detection rules to minimise false positives and collaborate with teams to identify new detection requirements.<br />•    Drive cross‑team collaboration, enabling a One Team culture through open communication, shared problem‑solving, and alignment across Cyber Defense and Digital teams.<br />•    Recommend and prioritise log sources required to support detection coverage and investigative visibility.<br /> </p><p> Skills & Experience</p><p> </p><p>•    5-8 years' experience in cybersecurity, with significant experience in detection engineering and testing validation. <br />•    Proficient in Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD technologies.<br />•    Proficient in Git & GitHub for code and version control management.<br />•    Proficient competency in KQL development to hunt and develop  <br />•    Strong understanding in data analytics and data storage. <br />•    Proactive and critical thinking to tie detection recommendations back to threat led detection coverage.  <br /> </p><p>If you think you can do this job but don’t meet all the criteria, that’s OK! <p>Job Qualifications & Skills:</p><ul><li>Bachelor or Master degree in Electrical Engineering (Full Time) or equivalent.</li><li>5-9 years of proven experience in Electrical Power Systems Design in Renewables (Solar, Wind, Hydro, BESS) Power Generation or related industries.</li><li>Experience in New product development process and systems engineering, preferably in the Battery Energy Storage industry is plus.</li><li>Able to design, configure and validate Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) system, that to include component selection such as breakers, fuses and relays for DC and AC circuits, understanding of system architect, site layout, functional safety analyses, auxiliary load estimation and battery sizing/configuration.</li><li>In depth design experience on selection of Electrical components and associated interface including Batteries, Inverters, Inverter-duty Transformers, BMS, EMS, Low Voltage AC/DC switchgears, ensuring compliance to various IEC, NEC, IEEE, ANZ etc design standards.</li><li>Familiarity with industry standards such as NFPA 70, IEC 60364, UL 9540, IEC 62933.</li><li>Should have experience in designing Power flow arrangement, Single line diagram and control schematic.</li><li>Able to perform and review electrical studies as part of system design, including short circuit analysis, protection sizing, protection coordination, Harmonic and arc flash analysis.</li><li>Experience in MATLAB Simulink or EMTP-RV is a plus.</li><li>Knowledge of industrial control philosophies, and communication protocols.</li><li>Familiar with DFMEA process and RCA technique.</li><li>Experience in tools like JAMA, Jira, Test rail is a plus.</li><li>Possessing strong problem-solving skills, effective communication abilities for collaborative engagement with cross-functional teams and clients, and the capacity to</li><li>work seamlessly with global teams across diverse backgrounds and time zones.</li></ul><h3>experience</h3>8
