Position Overview

Seeking a passionate and experienced EMI/EMC and Hardware Design Engineer to join our multidisciplinary R& D team focused on the design and development of next-generation surgical robotic systems. This role requires expertise in high-reliability electronics, PCB design, and EMI/EMC compliance per IEC 60601-1-2 and related medical standards.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all electronics subsystems—motor control, sensor interfaces, power systems, and communication—are electromagnetically compatible, robust, and medically safe for operating room environments.
Key Responsibilities
Hardware Design & Integration:
- Design and develop analog, digital, and mixed-signal circuits.
- Develop multi-layer PCBs with controlled impedance and stack-up.
- Interface with FPGA/MCU, sensors, actuators, and safety-critical components.
EMI/EMC Design & Simulation:
- Design for EMI/EMC, including cable shielding, grounding, and filtering.
- Use simulation tools such as Sigrity, CST, HyperLynx for EMI analysis.
Compliance & Testing (IEC 60601-1-2):
- Conduct pre-compliance testing (EMI probes, LISNs, ESD, EFT, etc.).
- Work with labs (TÜV, UL) for full compliance and lead root-cause analysis.Cross-Functional Collaboration:- Collaborate with mechanical, firmware, and safety teams.
- Contribute to system FMEA and regulatory documentation.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in Electronics, Electrical, or Biomedical Engineering.
- 5+ years in hardware design and in EMI/EMC.
- Familiar with IEC 60601-1-2, CISPR 11, ISO 14971.
- Tools: Altium/Cadence, Sigrity, CST, HyperLynx, LISNs, ESD guns.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in surgical robotics or electro-medical equipment.
- Knowledge of isolation design and industrial protocols (EtherCAT, RS485).
- Hands-on EMC test experience (surge, ESD, RF immunity).
