About the role

The ERP Technical Lead provides end-to-end technical stewardship of the S/4HANA ERP landscape, ensuring the platform is secure, stable, scalable, and aligned to business and Digital strategy.

The role is accountable for the technical integrity, availability, and performance of the ERP ecosystem, including S/4HANA and associated platforms such as SAP BTP and other integrated services. Leading a core team of technical specialists, the role ensures the ERP environment operates reliably, delivers maximum value, and is positioned to support ongoing business change and innovation.

The DSC ERP Technical Lead plays a critical role in risk management, compliance, and lifecycle governance, while enabling effective collaboration across internal teams and service partners to support a sustainable, globally delivered ERP capability.

Duties & Responsibilities: 

• Manages technical aspects of the S/4HANA system, ensuring the performance and availability suits the business needs.
• Manages a team of technical specialist roles to ensure the systems are managed and maintained appropriately.
• Is responsible for integrity of the system, and that the system architecture is fit-for-purpose and effective.
• Engages with key stakeholders through the various systems lifecycle to maintain systems currency, whilst driving innovation and managing costs.
• Collaborates with Digital leadership to align the ERP roadmap with the Digital Strategy.
• Constantly looks for innovation opportunities and manages new initiatives in line with the Digital policies and processes.
• Ensures compliance with the Sarbanes-Oxley act and safeguards the business from adverse findings and weaknesses through the documented controls.
• Ensure system stability by ensuring the development lifecycle is followed and functional changes are tested effectively to ensure minimal business disruption.
• Maintains awareness of and complies with current Digital requirements and minimizes risk to the business.
• Manage vendor engagements for support and delivery, in line with Company CAPP Procedure.
• Is accountable for Change Management and representation of the DSC ERP Technical team at the Change Advisory Board.
• Provides input to the Digital budget process for ongoing systems support as well as functional enhancements and minor projects.
• Align with the technical, functional and development support provided by the Application Managed Services provider to ensure an effective and efficient support structure and process is maintained.

Skills & Experience

• 8+ years of experience in managing SAP systems and providing technical support
• Experience in supporting SAP S/4HANA, HANA DB and ancillary cloud systems such as SAP BTP, OpenText and Ariba.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage with a wide range of stakeholders.
• Ability to work collaboratively and build strong relationships within a cross-functional team.
• Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
• Willingness to learn and grow in the Team Lead role.
• Bachelor's degree in Business Systems, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
