Sr. ESTIMATION ENGINEER :
Job Purpose:
To prepare accurate cost estimates for oil and gas maintenance projects by analyzing technical drawings, specifications, and project requirements. Ensure competitiveness while meeting client requirements.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum 10-15 years of experience in cost estimation, preferably in oil & gas maintenance projects.
- Solid knowledge of oil and gas industry standards (e.g., API, ASME, ISO).
- Familiarity with maintenance job planning, including shutdown/turnaround works.
- Strong knowledge of maintenance contract structures (e.g., lump sum, unit rate, T&M).
- Proficient in MS Office Suite (especially Excel), ERP systems.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple estimates simultaneously
- Middle East Experience is preferrable.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and analyze maintenance scopes, RFQs, technical specifications, and drawings.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for preventive, corrective, and shutdown maintenance activities.
- Perform site visits or attend job explanation meetings when required to understand site conditions and requirements.
- Collect and analyze vendor quotations, material costs, equipment rentals, labor rates, and subcontractor inputs.
- Liaise with procurement and operations teams to ensure estimation accuracy and feasibility.
- Develop man-hour estimates and resource planning based on work breakdown structures.
- Assist in preparing and submitting technical and commercial proposals to clients.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and recommend value engineering options.
- Maintain an up-to-date database of cost elements and estimation templates.
