Job Description: Financial Controller
Job Summary:The Financial Controller will play a pivotal role in managing and leading the accounts department, ensuring accurate financial reporting, budgeting, strategic financial planning and Management Information System reporting. This position requires a detail-oriented professional with excellent leadership, analytical skill, communication skills, along with a proven track record in financial management.
Key Responsibilities:Financial Reporting:
Preparation of accurate and timely financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.
Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
Analyse financial data to provide insights and recommendations for improving financial performance.
Oversee all aspects of financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to ensure compliance and efficiency.
Maintain a proper internal control mechanism within the organisation.
Provide strategic financial guidance to the executive team to support business decision- making.
Ensuring no interest and penalties arise due to delay in payments of statutory liabilities or non-submission of returns timely
.
Team Management:Lead and mentor a team of accountants, providing guidance and support to ensure high performance.
Foster a collaborative and positive work environment within the accounts department.
Conduct regular performance evaluations and identify opportunities for professional development.
Identify and assess financial risks, implementing strategies to mitigate potential issues.
Stay informed about industry trends, market changes, and regulatory developments that may impact financial operations.
CA with 5 to 8 years post qualification experience.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and industry best practices.
Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and guide a team.
Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite.
