Position: Fleet Operations Manager
Location: Haryana, India
Qualification: ITI (Industrial Training Institute) with strong relevant experience OR a degree/diploma in a relevant field (Logistics, Mechanical, or Automotive Engineering).
Experience: Minimum 5+ years of progressive experience in fleet management, technical service, or tyre management within the commercial transportation industry.
Role Summary
The Fleet Operations Manager will be the technical and operational lead for our key commercial fleet accounts. This role focuses on optimizing tyre performance, reducing operational costs through technical interventions, ensuring compliance, and providing expert consultation to clients. The manager will lead technical education, performance tracking, and key operational analysis to deliver maximum value to our customers.
Key Responsibilities
1. Tyre Asset Management and Performance
Tyre Tracking & Analysis: Responsible for Truck/Bus Tyre Tracking & its Follow up for analyzing tyre performance & tyre life; using data to drive replacement strategies and maximize retread cycles.
Tyre Wear & Maintenance Expertise: Apply Excellent knowledge of tyre wear and tyre maintenance principles to develop and implement best practices for inflation, rotation, and damage prevention.
Route & Application Study: Conduct a Good understanding of route analysis, operation and application study to select the correct tyre type, tread, and pressure for specific fleet applications, maximizing efficiency and safety.
Wheel Alignment: Oversee and manage the Good understanding of wheel alignment process, ensuring vehicles are correctly aligned to prevent irregular tyre wear and improve fuel efficiency.
2. Technical & Vehicle Operations
Vehicle Familiarization & Compliance: Maintain a strong Understanding of vehicle familiarization and government norms (e.g., axle load limits, safety regulations) and ensure all tyre-related practices comply with local and national regulations.
Engine & Efficiency: Possess Excellent Knowledge about EGR and SCR system functionality, maintenance requirements, and their direct impact on overall Basic understanding of fuel efficiency and engine performance, advising clients on related issues.
Cost Management: Identify and implement strategies for cost reduction across fleet operations, focusing on the link between tyre performance and fuel efficiency.
3. Customer Education & Claim Management
Customer Education: Responsible to Educate Customers about Product and its Technical Terms, including the benefits of specific tyre technologies, proper maintenance, and performance metrics.
Technical Training: Design and deliver Technical trainings for client staff and internal technicians on tyre service standards, inspection protocols, and product knowledge.
Claim Handling: Efficiently manage and resolve Claim handling processes, performing root cause analysis on tyre failures and communicating findings professionally to customers and manufacturers.
4. Leadership and Documentation
Prepare detailed operational reports, performance metrics, and cost-saving proposals for management and client review.
Lead the field service team (Fleet Technicians), providing technical guidance, coaching, and ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Technical Expertise: Proven, in-depth Excellent knowledge of commercial vehicle tyres (truck/bus), maintenance practices, and failure analysis.
Operational Acumen: Strong capability in fleet operations, cost management, route planning, and maximizing asset utilization.
Communication & Training: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; demonstrated ability to conduct professional customer presentations and technical trainings.
Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills to interpret tyre data, diagnose wear patterns, and manage claim handling effectively.
Vehicle Systems: Mandatory Excellent Knowledge about EGR and SCR system and general vehicle dynamics.
Certification: ITI (Industrial Training Institute) certification or a relevant Degree/Diploma is required.
