Job Title: Forklift Trainer
Mission
The Forklift Trainer is responsible for training and certifying employees in the safe and efficient operation of forklifts and other material-handling equipment. The role ensures compliance with safety standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements while promoting a safe working environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver classroom and practical training sessions on forklift operations
- Provide hands-on instruction for various types of forklifts (e.g., counterbalance, reach truck, pallet jack)
- Assess trainee performance and certify operators upon successful completion
- Ensure all training complies with safety regulations (e.g., OSHA standards or local regulatory requirements)
- Develop and update training materials, manuals, and safety procedures
- Conduct refresher training and re-certification programs as required
- Monitor workplace practices and provide coaching to improve operator safety
- Investigate incidents or near-misses involving forklift operations and recommend corrective actions
- Maintain accurate training records and documentation
- Collaborate with safety and operations teams to ensure continuous improvement
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (additional technical certification preferred)
- Valid forklift operator certification and license
- Proven experience operating forklifts in industrial, warehouse, or logistics environments
- Prior training or teaching experience (preferred but not always required)
- Strong knowledge of safety regulations and best practices
- Good communication and presentation skills
- Ability to assess and coach individuals effectively
- Has minimum 5 years of experience in relevant field.
