Job Description: General Manager (GM) - Production (Woven Sack) Position Overview: General Manager (GM) - Production is responsible for overseeing the entire manufacturing process in a woven sack production facility. This role ensures efficient production operations, maintains high-quality standards, optimizes resource utilization, and drives continuous improvement. The GM Production is expected to lead a team, implement best manufacturing practices, and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards. Key Responsibilities: 1. Production Planning & Execution: ● Oversee the end-to-end production process of woven sacks, including extrusion, lamination and finishing process. ● Develop and implement production schedules to meet customer demand while optimizing efficiency and reducing waste. ● Ensure efficient utilization of machinery, raw materials, and workforce. ● Coordinate with procurement for raw material availability (e.g., HDPE, PP, etc). ● Minimize production downtime and delays by identifying and resolving bottlenecks. 2. Quality Assurance & Compliance: ● Maintain high-quality standards in all production processes, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and customer specifications. ● Implement and monitor quality control systems to detect and rectify defects at every stage of production. ● Work closely with the Quality Assurance team to conduct inspections and audits. ● Drive continuous improvements in product quality and process efficiency. ● Implement quality control checks at different production stages. ● Ensure compliance with industry standards (ISI, BIS, or customer specifications). 3. Cost & Resource Optimization: ● Control production costs by optimizing raw material usage, energy consumption, and workforce efficiency. ● Reduce waste and raw material losses through process improvements. ● Ensure proper inventory management of raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods. 5. Maintenance & Equipment Efficiency: ● Ensure regular maintenance of machinery and equipment to minimize breakdowns and production losses. ● Coordinate with the maintenance team for preventive and corrective maintenance. ● Evaluate new technologies and equipment upgrades to improve efficiency. 6. Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE): ● Enforce workplace safety regulations and ensure compliance with environmental policies. ● Conduct safety training and risk assessments to prevent accidents and injuries. ● Implement waste management and sustainability initiatives. 7. Reporting & Coordination: ● Prepare and present production reports, key performance indicators (KPIs), and operational data to senior management. ● Collaborate with procurement, sales, and logistics teams to ensure smooth operations. Qualifications & Experience: ● Education: Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Plastics Engineering, Production Engineering, Polymer Technology, or a related field. Education from CIPET is an added advantage. ● Experience: 10-15 years of experience in the woven sack manufacturing industry, with at least 5 years in a senior managerial role. ● Technical Skills: ○ Knowledge of PP/HDPE woven sack production processes. ○ Experience in handling extrusion, weaving looms, lamination, and finishing machines. ● Leadership & Management Skills: ○ Lead, mentor, and motivate the production team, including supervisors, machine operators, and technical staff at floor. ○ Strong leadership and problem-solving abilities. ○ Excellent communication and decision-making skills. ○ Ability to manage large teams and work under pressure. ○ Conduct training programs to enhance workforce skills and knowledge. ○ Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
