Job Purpose
The Senior Executive / Deputy Manager - Dispatch will lead end-to-end dispatch and plant logistics operations for stamped and sheet metal components. This role is responsible for ensuring On-Time In-Full (OTIF) deliveries, rigorous inventory tracking, statutory documentation compliance, and seamless logistics coordination. The incumbent will serve as the critical link between internal shop floor production and outward customer delivery networks to eliminate line-stoppages and optimize freight distribution costs.
Key Responsibilities & Deliverables
1. Dispatch & Logistics Operations
Formulate and execute daily dispatch schedules mapped against production output and customer delivery matrices.
Ensure timely shipment of finished press shop parts to OEM customers, assembly plants, or regional warehouses.
Partner with transporters to ensure timely vehicle placement, optimized route planning, and competitive freight cost negotiation.
Track daily logistics metrics to meet strict corporate OTIF delivery targets.
2. Production Alignment & Urgency Management
Maintain constant collaboration with Press Shop Production and Production Planning & Control (PPC) teams to align outward priorities.
Secure immediate availability of finished goods matching the day's delivery sequence.
Direct emergency logistics, hot-shot dispatches, and priority protocols to prevent customer line-stoppage scenarios.
3. Warehouse & Inventory Control
Govern absolute stock ledger accuracy for all finished goods and dispatch-ready materials.
Enforce strict First-In, First-Out (FIFO) and First-Expired, First-Out (FEFO) material movement rules.
Oversee packing, barcoding, and labeling lines to guarantee compliance with specific customer packaging blueprints.
Lead regular physical stock audits, cyclical counts, and system reconciliations.
4. Documentation & Customer Compliance
Audit and validate the precision of all outbound regulatory paperwork: Tax Invoices, Packing Lists, E-Way Bills, and Delivery Challans/GRNs.
Execute processes on client web portals, ensuring accurate entry of Advance Shipment Notices (ASN) and tracking updates.
Align labeling, palletization, and logistics setups with strict OEM-specific norms.
5. Cost Control, Safety & Team Management
Achieve transportation cost-down goals through vehicle load optimization, milk-run planning, and regular transporter performance reviews.
Manage, train, and allocate shift duties to dispatch staff, loaders, and warehouse contractors.
Maintain workplace safety standard operating procedures during heavy container loading and unloading.
Keep the warehouse aligned with IATF 16949, ISO norms, and 5S plant practices.
6. MIS & Reporting
Build and present daily, weekly, and monthly tracking sheets highlighting Dispatch Accuracy, Transit Damage Rejections, Pending Backlogs, and Logistics Cost per Unit variances.
Candidate Profile
Educational Qualification
B.E. / B.Tech / Diploma in Mechanical, Production, or Industrial Engineering.
Alternatively: University Graduates with strong, specialized experience in automotive plant logistics.
Experience Profile
10 to 12 years of proven core experience in plant dispatch, warehouse management, and outward logistics.
Must-Have Background: Clear tenure working directly inside a Stamping Shop, Sheet Metal Plant, or Automotive Components manufacturing ecosystem.
Demonstrated history in a supervisory or assistant managerial role handling third-party logistics (3PL) and contractual labour.
Core Competencies & Skills
Technical: Practical understanding of sheet metal handling, automotive OEM packaging compliance, and GST/E-way Bill frameworks. Advanced hands-on proficiency in SAP (MM/SD modules) and MS Excel.
Functional: Dynamic problem-solving under line-stoppage pressures, strong freight negotiation capabilities, and sharp numerical acumen for stock auditing.
Leadership: Exceptional cross-functional communication to balance demands between production quality teams and external transport vendors.
