Key Responsibilities
- Ensure smooth operation and maximum availability of all plant machinery.
- Plan and execute preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance activities.
- Troubleshoot mechanical equipment and coordinate with the electrical team for timely resolution of equipment failures.
- Monitor the performance of roller mills, plansifters, purifiers, pneumatic conveying systems, bucket elevators, screw conveyors, compressors, dust collection systems, and other utility equipment.
- Maintain utility systems including air compressors, DG sets, boilers (where applicable), and water systems.
- Analyse recurring equipment failures and implement permanent corrective actions.
- Maintain critical spare parts inventory and coordinate procurement to avoid production interruptions.
- Coordinate with production teams to schedule maintenance with minimal impact on operations.
- Ensure proper documentation of maintenance activities, machine history, and breakdown reports.
- Lead installation, commissioning, and modification of new machinery and plant equipment.
- Monitor energy consumption and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce operating costs.
- Ensure compliance with food safety standards, GMP, FSSC 22000, HACCP, and plant safety procedures.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve equipment reliability and plant productivity.
- Supervise technicians and maintenance staff to ensure timely completion of assigned work.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (Electrical or Mechatronics candidates with relevant experience may also apply).
- 4-8 years of experience in maintenance or engineering within flour mills, food processing, grain handling, FMCG manufacturing, or other continuous process industries.
- Experience in preventive maintenance planning and breakdown analysis.
- Strong understanding of rotating equipment, conveyors, bearings, gearboxes, belts, pneumatic systems, and process machinery.
- Ability to read engineering drawings and equipment manuals.
- Knowledge of TPM, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and preventive maintenance systems.
- Familiarity with SAP Business One or other ERP-based maintenance systems is an advantage.
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Willingness to work in shifts whenever required.
