    The Designer will support the goals and programs established by the management team. These
    roles and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
     Provide and check drawings / BOM as per customer requirements.
     Prepare bulk MTOs (Material Take Offs) and detailed BOMs (Bill of Materials) with no
    supervision from Engineer.

     Prepare and complete various Mechanical, Piping, Structural deliverable drawings and
    documents such as layout/general arrangements, piping isometrics, piping
    schedule, piping tie-point/ interface drawings, piping insulation details, structural general
    arrangement drawings, structural weld details /notes, structural connection detail
    drawings, foundation support details, equipment mounting / support details, pipe support
    details, weight / COG reports, manual valve list, HVAC ducting, instrumentation, flow
    diagrams, Process and Instrument Diagrams, pump alignment drawings, handrails /
    ladders, walkways, and stairs as per OSHA, platform and grating detailed drawings, etc.
     Help in solving problems by simulating the problems in drawings.
     Prepare sequence drawing and procedure for Factory Acceptance Test.
     Prepare and compile installation procedure for submission to customer.
     Supervise the outsourcing of engineering design work to 3rd party engineering / design
    firms when needed.
     Review, as required, vendor data and drawings to ensure compliance with client
    specifications or applicable standards.  Computer Skills:
     Mastery knowledge and proficiency in:
     Microsoft Office 365 Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint)
     PDF Editor (Adobe, Foxit, or other equivalent)
     Solid Works
     Autodesk AutoCAD
     Navisworks Manager / Freedom
     Operational knowledge in:
     SAP (ERP Tool w/ Engineering Modules and Transactions)

        TITLE: Mechanical Designer 3REPORTS TO: Group Leader (Mechanical) with technical oversight by Chief – Engineering (MIL-IEC)<br />POSITION SUMMARY: The Mechanical Designer 3 position requires providing conceptual and detailed design<br />of systems & components used during project execution of industrial plant design.<br />SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:<br /> none<br />DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:<br /> Be proficient in the use of AutoCAD software and related Autodesk products, and utilize CAD software to<br />create mechanical drawings for the basic and detailed engineering of a Midrex plant.<br /> Layout of plant equipment, piping, and utility systems. Able to plan and execute work based on higher<br />level task assignment from others, including engineers, project controls, and senior staff.<br /> Utilize P&IDs to design piping routings, and check designs from others.<br /> Take conceptual designs, sketches, and ideas from engineers and senior designers to develop the details<br />necessary for a complete, engineered drawing capable of being used for purchasing, erection in the field,<br />design analysis, etc.<br /> Able to create bill of materials for fabrications where needed.<br /> Able to collaborate with outside consultants or subcontracted engineering firms for project tasks.<br /> Travel to job sites to perform analyses of existing equipment, piping routes, layouts, etc. for use in<br />developing future plans, proposals, etc.<br /> Travel to fabrication facilities to perform mechanical inspections of equipment and adherence to designs<br />and tolerances.<br /> Travel on business trips and/or field assignments as required to carry out departmental tasks and<br />functions.<br /> Perform checking of mechanical drawings for consistency with conceptual ideas, design, sketches, etc.<br /> Assist senior designers and engineers by suggesting design changes that might improve the desired results<br />of the design. Able to develop capacity to perform basic design calculations as part of design efforts, and<br />learns to anticipate problems such as high stress, overloaded fasteners, thermal growth issues, need for<br />movement compensation, and the like.<br /> Work as a teammate with all company departments and employees in all assignments.
