JOB TITLE: Project Controls Specialist
REPORTS TO: Project Controls Manager
LOCATION: CMI
1. DESCRIPTION OF ROLE
The Project Controls Specialist is responsible for leading the project teams in
reporting, Cost Control, Planning and Risk and overall coordination of the project.
Ensuring that the project objectives are met in terms of budget, on time delivery and
to track and report on project deliverables and targets.
2. POSITION OVERVIEW
Key Responsibilities & Activities
Responsible for integrity of data that is reported
Assist the Project Manager in all contractual matters including notices & variation
orders
Review and manage of key vendors/fabricators schedules
Drive project deliverables
Preparing bi-weekly/monthly reports for internal/external customers
Participate in monthly project reviews including engaging with financial controller
in developing a credible project forecast.
Preparing and maintaining project budget and forecast
Tracking and monitoring project spend and reporting variances
Identify Risks and Opportunities ...
Collect required data for invoicing
Analyzing the changes and Impacts occurring on Projects.
Prepare Change Orders and enter MOC’s
Ensure that engineering processes and project specifications are adhered to
Participating and leading the Vendors calls on their respective Projects.
Developing the Packing list details for delivery
Coordinate with internal/External logistics team for smooth transfer of materials
to Fabricators/Customer
Assist PM’s in Preparing the commercial Invoice
Support in providing the required Information to PM/PCM/Contract team in the
event of arising contract discrepancies
Maintain action register
Review of project cash flow, cash and revenue milestones with Financial
Controller
Drive risk mitigation
Maintain Project Controls KPI’s-Engineering, Procurement, Document Control,
Cost, Schedule and Risk
Document Lessons Learned and applying Lessons Learned
Qualifications and Education Requirements
Professional Qualifications – 4 year degree in Engineering, Project Management,
Finance or Construction Management.
Min 8+ years in EPC Oil and Gas projects
Schlumberger-Private
Experience with Engineering deliverables, Procurement,
Piping/Vessel/Structural fabrication and skidded packages
Financial Background is a Plus
SAP knowledge
Strong Microsoft Excel experience, navigating large databases and ability to
aggregate data for use to control the project
Strong verbally and written
Fluent in Spanish and English
Self-motivated
Skills
Technical knowledge and application of Project Services practices
Good communication, and commercial acumen
Understanding of Scheduling tools - Primavera P6
Risk Management is a plus
Audit Controls and Financial Background
Process Systems equipment knowledge and experience
Procurement process knowledge
Capable to understand key engineering documents
Travel
Up to 25% travel to work sites/vendors/Fabricators.
