1. Production Management
- Take complete ownership of Spray Dryer operations.
- Ensure continuous and smooth running of the dryer with minimum interruptions.
- Achieve daily, weekly, and monthly production targets.
- Maximize dryer utilization and operate the plant at optimum capacity.
- Ensure optimum throughput while maintaining product quality.
2. Production Planning, Capacity Utilization & Order Execution
- Prepare and execute daily, weekly, and monthly production plans based on customer orders, dispatch schedules, inventory requirements, and available plant capacity.
- Ensure maximum utilization of the spray dryer and associated manufacturing facilities while maintaining safety, quality, and equipment reliability.
- Continuously monitor plant capacity utilization and take proactive corrective actions to eliminate bottlenecks and improve throughput.
- Coordinate with Sales, Commercial, Stores, Quality, Maintenance, and Dispatch teams to ensure uninterrupted production and timely execution of customer orders.
- Review order status, raw material availability, production progress, quality clearance, packing, and dispatch readiness on a daily basis.
- Ensure that all confirmed customer orders are manufactured and made ready for dispatch within committed delivery timelines.
- Identify risks that could impact production or dispatch schedules and implement recovery plans before delays occur.
- Minimize idle machine time, production stoppages, changeover losses, and avoidable production delays through effective planning and coordination.
3. Process Control & Operational Efficiency
- Monitor all operating parameters to ensure stable and efficient production.
- Identify production bottlenecks and implement corrective actions.
- Improve productivity, process efficiency, and operational reliability.
- Minimize downtime through effective planning and coordination.
- Continuously improve production performance through process optimization.
4. Quality Management
- Ensure all products meet quality specifications.
- Coordinate closely with Quality Control and R&D teams.
- Investigate quality deviations and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain consistency in product quality across production batches.
5. Manpower Management
- Lead and manage officers, operators, supervisors, workmen, and contract labour engaged in dryer operations.
- Plan manpower deployment to ensure uninterrupted production.
- Develop a disciplined, accountable, and high-performing production team.
- Conduct regular training programs to improve technical skills and safety awareness.
- Monitor productivity and performance of the team.
6. Maintenance Coordination
- Coordinate with the maintenance team for preventive and breakdown maintenance.
- Ensure equipment availability through proper maintenance planning.
- Minimize production losses arising from equipment failures.
- Participate in shutdown planning and maintenance reviews.
7. Safety, Housekeeping & Compliance
- Ensure strict adherence to all safety procedures and operating standards.
- Promote safe work practices across the production team.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping within the production area.
- Ensure compliance with statutory requirements and company safety policies.
8. Cost & Resource Optimization
- Monitor consumption of utilities, fuel, steam, and other resources.
- Reduce process losses, wastage, and rework.
- Improve operational efficiency through better utilization of manpower and equipment.
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction without compromising quality or safety.
9. Continuous Improvement
- Drive initiatives to improve productivity, reliability, and operational efficiency.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and standardization.
- Participate in debottlenecking and capacity enhancement projects.
- Encourage operators to contribute improvement ideas.
10. Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain accurate production records and operating logs.
- Prepare daily production reports, downtime reports, and shift summaries.
- Ensure proper documentation of process deviations and corrective actions.
- Report key operational parameters to Plant Management on a regular basis.
Educational Qualification
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering is preferred.
- Candidates with Electrical Engineering or Chemical Engineering background having relevant spray dryer manufacturing experience will also be considered.
Experience
- Minimum 8-12 years of manufacturing experience.
- Experience in spray dryer operations or continuous process manufacturing is highly preferred.
- Experience in chemical, specialty chemical, resin, pharmaceutical, mineral, or similar process industries will be an advantage.
- Proven experience in leading production teams in a manufacturing environment.
