Job Purpose

Responsible for procurement of raw materials, consumables, tooling, and services for manufacturing industry, ensuring timely availability, cost control, quality compliance, and effective vendor coordination.

Key Responsibilities

Procurement & Vendor Communication

• Procure foundry and machining materials such as castings, alloy steel, pig iron, ferro alloys, scrap, tools, inserts, coolants, oils, sand, resins, and chemicals.
• Communicate regularly with suppliers regarding quotations, negotiations, order status, delivery schedules, and discrepancies.
• Develop, maintain, and evaluate vendors based on quality, cost, delivery, and service performance.
• Prepare and release Purchase Orders (POs) and follow up to ensure on-time delivery.

Cost Control & Quality Coordination

• Support price negotiations and cost-saving initiatives.
• Coordinate with Production, Quality, and Stores for material specifications and acceptance.
• Ensure materials comply with technical drawings, specifications, and quality standards.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong knowledge of MS Excel (PO tracking, vendor comparison, inventory reports, cost analysis).
• Excellent vendor communication and coordination skills (verbal and written).
• Understanding of foundry and camshaft machining materials and processes.
• Basic knowledge of ERP systems (SAP / Tally / Oracle or similar).
• Good negotiation, follow-up, and documentation skills.

Educational Qualification

• Diploma / BE / B.Tech - Mechanical / Production Engineering or equivalent.

Experience Requirement

• 1 to 2 years' experience in purchase/procurement within:
  • Preferred Foundry Industry
  • Automotive Components
  • Machining Industry
