Key Responsibilities.<br />1. Develop and implement procurement strategies for critical equipment and materials including skids, compressor packages, U-Stamp vessel, piping spools, and other project-related<br />components to ensure cost efficiency, quality, and supply reliability.<br />2. Build and strengthen the supply base by identifying, evaluating, and developing suppliers for fabricated equipment, machined components, FRP items, and proprietary bought-out<br />products, including engagement with approved vendor ecosystems such as EIL-approved suppliers.<br />3. Lead and mentor a team of 3–4 buyers, providing guidance on sourcing strategies, vendor negotiations, supplier development, and procurement planning while ensuring alignment with<br />project and organizational objectives.<br />4. Manage procurement of select strategic categories as an individual contributor, including raw materials and engineered bought-out items such as plates, tubes, pipes, flanges, fittings, gaskets, and specialized equipment.<br />5. Drive supplier quality and cost management initiatives, including cost analysis, fair pricing assessments, supplier performance monitoring, and implementation of Supplier Quality Engineering practices.<br />6. Handle techno-commercial negotiations and contracting, ensuring optimal commercial terms, competitive pricing, and compliance with project and contractual requirements.<br />7. Oversee procurement for both direct and indirect materials, ensuring timely availability to support manufacturing, project execution, and operational requirements.<br />8. Manage import procurement activities, including vendor coordination, international sourcing, and familiarity with trade mechanisms such as advance licenses, high sea sales, and related import processes.<br />9. Collaborate with finance and commercial teams on contract pricing mechanisms, forex exposure management, and hedging considerations where applicable.<br />10. Ensure compliance with taxation, duties, and commercial regulations relevant to project procurement and contractual transactions.11. Leverage ERP systems (preferably SAP) for procurement planning, purchase order management, vendor tracking, and procurement analytics.<br />12. Drive process improvements within the procurement function, focusing on efficiency, transparency, root-cause problem solving, and adherence to procurement best practices.<br />13. Apply strong project coordination and time management skills to manage multiple sourcing initiatives simultaneously while meeting project timelines.<br />14. Utilize strong techno-commercial understanding of the Oil & Gas / process industry supply chain to support sourcing decisions for engineered and fabricated equipment. Qualifications and Requirements:<br />B.E/ B. Tech Mechanical Engineering with experience: of 15-20 yrs. of in procurement for Oil & Gas sector especially raw material, bought outs & instrumentation also having exposure in outsourcing of<br />fabricated structures.<p> </p><h3>experience</h3>20
