Job Description: Safety Patroller

Qualification: Diploma in Industrial Safety
This role is a critical position responsible for the hands-on enforcement and monitoring of safety protocols within a large-scale manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in a high-risk industry, with a strong focus on proactive hazard identification and incident prevention.
Roles and Responsibilities (KRA's)
Site Patrol and Inspection: Conduct regular and thorough patrols of all plant areas, including production lines, raw material storage, and maintenance zones, to ensure strict adherence to safety regulations and company policies. Identify and report any unsafe conditions, equipment malfunctions, or hazardous behaviors.
Safety Compliance: Ensure all personnel, including employees and contractors, are consistently using required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as hard hats, safety shoes, earplugs, and high-visibility vests. Enforce safety discipline and implement corrective actions for non-compliance.
Incident Response: Serve as a first responder to accidents, near-misses, and emergencies. Assist in providing first aid and coordinating with the safety team and management to secure the site and initiate appropriate emergency protocols.
High-Risk Activity Monitoring: Specifically monitor and supervise high-risk activities like hot work, confined space entry, working at heights, and heavy lifting operations to ensure all necessary permits and safety precautions are in place and followed.
Documentation and Reporting: Maintain meticulous records of daily safety inspections, checklists, and incident reports. Promptly report all incidents and near-misses to the Safety Officer or Manager and assist in accident investigations to determine root causes and implement preventive measures.
Training and Awareness: Assist in organizing and delivering safety training sessions and toolbox talks to all workers to promote a strong safety culture and continuously improve safety awareness.
Emergency Preparedness: Ensure all fire-fighting equipment, first aid kits, and emergency response arrangements are well-maintained, easily accessible, and in a state of readiness. Participate in and support emergency drills.
Desired Candidate Profile
Educational Qualification: Mandatory Diploma in Industrial Safety or a relevant certification.
Experience: A minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in a safety-related role, preferably within the cement, steel, or other heavy manufacturing industries.
Skills and Attributes:
Thorough knowledge of industrial safety procedures, regulations, and risk assessment practices.
Excellent communication and reporting skills, both written and verbal.
Physically fit and capable of working in challenging outdoor or industrial environments.
Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating risks.
Familiarity with local safety regulations and statutory compliance.
Certifications such as NEBOSH or IOSH are highly preferred.
