Job Description – Paint Vertical Location: Bhuj / Ahmedabad (based on business requirement and travel necessity) Experience Required: 12 to 15 Years in the Paints, Coatings, Rubber, Paper Chemical, or Allied Industry Overview The individual will be responsible for managing and expanding the Paint Vertical, driving both technical and commercial growth in the decorative, industrial, and protective coatings segments. The role requires a strong understanding of paint raw materials, formulation chemistry, pigment systems, mineral fillers, and customer applications, along with the ability to translate market needs into actionable strategies for R&D, QA/QC, and Production teams. The person should also be capable of representing Rio Clays at industry exhibitions, seminars, and customer visits, ensuring strong brand visibility and technical credibility Key Tasks and Responsibilities Sales & Business Development Drive sales minerals, fillers, and specialty additives used in paints, coatings, and allied applications.• Achieve business objectives related to revenue, profitability, and market expansion.• Identify new business opportunities across decorative paints, industrial coatings, automotive coatings, primers, and powder coatings segments.• Develop and maintain strategic key accounts, negotiate contracts, and ensure closure of sales deals.• Ensure regular order flow, forecast accuracy, and timely collections as per business plans.• Monitor market pricing, implement price revisions, and update monthly/quarterly sales targets. Technical Expertise & Support• Maintain strong technical knowledge of paint raw materials including clays, extenders, fillers, pigments, dispersing agents, and functional additives.• Understand the role and behaviour of minerals in paint formulations — including opacity, rheology, brightness, gloss control, and film strength.• Collaborate with R&D and QA/QC to develop and refine grades tailored for specific paint applications.• Evaluate physical and chemical properties such as particle size distribution, oil absorption, brightness, and dispersion characteristics.• Support formulation optimization for decorative, automotive, and industrial coatings to meet customer performance requirements.• Assist in product benchmarking, competitor material analysis, and performance improvement studies.• Provide technical training and presentations to customers and internal teams on product applications and advantages. Exhibitions, Events & Industry Representation • Plan, manage, and participate in paint and coatings exhibitions, trade fairs, and industry conferences.• Represent brand and technical capabilities through presentations, product showcases, and live discussions.• Build professional relationships with formulators, manufacturers, and industry bodies during events.• Prepare detailed post-event summaries and actionable reports for business follow-up.• Actively engage in technical forums, workshops, and seminars to stay connected with evolving paint technologies. Education & Experience Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry, Paint Technology, Polymer Science, or Chemical Engineering.• 12–15 years of experience in technical sales, business development, or formulation/application support in the paint and coatings industry.• Proven experience in managing strategic accounts and supporting technical-commercial development of paint-related raw materials.
