This role acts as a key link between on-ground electrical automation operations and the strategic vision of the Automation Manager. Key Responsibilities:
Automation Project Execution & Support
Assist in the planning, installation, and commissioning of electrical automation systems for equipment.
Program, test, and troubleshoot PLCs.
Provide input and support for control system architecture and panel design.
Maintenance and Troubleshooting
Ensure smooth and timely resolution of breakdowns related to automation systems.
Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring electrical/automation failures and implement corrective actions.
Support the maintenance team in resolving complex electrical issues.
System Integration and Upgrades
Support integration of new automation solutions with legacy machinery and systems.
Recommend and implement electrical upgrades and retrofits for improved reliability and energy efficiency.
Documentation and Compliance
Prepare and maintain technical documentation including wiring diagrams, PLC/HMI logic backups, and SOPs.
Ensure compliance with applicable electrical and safety standards.
Assist in conducting safety audits and validating machine interlocks, emergency stop circuits, and earthing.
Vendor Coordination
Coordinate with OEMs, system integrators, and external service providers during installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting phases.
Evaluate and recommend new vendors or technology partners for automation-related services.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Collaborate with mechanical automation, production, quality, and IT teams to ensure cohesive automation functioning.
Training and Knowledge Transfer
Train operators, technicians, and junior engineers on new systems and automation safety protocols. Qualification/ Experience/ Skills Bachelor’s degree in electrical/Electronics/ Instrumentation engineering or equivalent.
Experienced in working with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
Excellent problem-solving, communication, and project management skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
6-9 years of experience in automation and controls.
Proven expertise in implementing automation in FMCG/automotive or high-speed and multiple SKUs manufacturing setups.
Technical Skills:
Expertise in electrical control systems, PLCs, HMIs, and drive systems.
Hands-on experience with automation hardware such as sensors, relays, VFDs, servo drives, and SCADA systems.
Ability to read and design electrical schematics and control panel layouts (AutoCAD Electrical preferred).
Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
Knowledge of machine safety systems and electrical safety
standards.
