Job Summary<br />The Sr. Associate – GL – SSC is responsible for driving accurate financial reporting, general<br />ledger accounting, reconciliations, fixed asset and lease accounting, and ensuring<br />compliance with global RTR standards. The role supports month-end/year-end closing,<br />audits, stakeholder coordination, and process optimization.<br />The role also contributes to continuous improvement, automation initiatives, and<br />mentoring junior associates as part of the future leadership pipeline.Key Responsibilities<br />1. Financial & General Ledger Management<br />• Maintain accurate reconciliations of vendor and customer accounts.<br />• Manage GL entries, journals, and financial records with accuracy.<br />• Ensure correct posting of fixed asset and lease accounting transactions.<br />• Perform month-end/year-end close activities.<br />• Prepare P&L, balance sheet, and trial balance statements.<br />• Conduct variance analysis and financial assessments.• Ensure compliance with taxation and internal accounting policies.<br />• Support budgeting and forecasting activities.<br />2. Process & Operations<br />• Ensure adherence to SLAs, KPIs, and internal control frameworks.<br />• Identify and implement process improvements and automation within RTR.<br />• Support audits through documentation, reconciliations, and compliance reports.<br />• Participate in daily huddles, governance calls, and operational discussions.<br />• Maintain audit readiness with proper financial documentation.<br />• Update SOPs, workflow charts, and process manuals.<br />• Collaborate with global stakeholders and external auditors.<br />3. Process Transition & Knowledge Management (Added Section)<br />• Support transition governance and documentation activities.<br />• Participate in KT sessions and ensure effective process handover.<br />• Document best practices and learnings.<br />4. Governance & Compliance<br />• Follow governance frameworks, risk-control standards, and statutory guidelines.<br />• Maintain accurate compliance documentation for audits.<br />• Coordinate with onshore PICs to resolve RTR-related issues.<br />• Adhere to corporate financial policies and reporting standards.<br />5. Process Improvement & Automation<br />• Analyze RTR processes to identify inefficiencies.<br />• Collaborate with functional teams to implement automation tools.<br />• Lead continuous improvement activities using performance metrics.<br />6. Learning & Development<br />• Mentor and train junior associates.<br />• Stay updated on accounting standards, tax regulations, and global best practices.• Participate in knowledge-sharing and capability-building initiatives.Key Outputs / Deliverables<br />• Accurate and timely preparation of GL reports and financial statements<br />• Smooth month-end and year-end closing cycles<br />• Strong audit support and compliance adherence<br />• Successful process transitions and updated SOPs<br />• Efficiency improvements through automation<br />• SLA/KPI compliance and enhanced stakeholder communicationTechnical & Skill-Based Competencies<br />Educational Qualifications<br />• Graduate/Postgraduate in Commerce<br />• Basic MS Office Certification<br />Technical Skills<br />• Minimum 8 years of experience in GL accounting, financial reporting, and<br />reconciliations<br />• SAP experience preferred<br />• Strong knowledge of RTR processes<br />• Advanced MS Excel skills<br />• Shipping/logistics industry experience (preferred)<br />• Experience in BPO/SSC/Outsourcing (preferred)<br />• Good knowledge of geography (continents, countries, ports)<br />• Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities<br />• Ability to work in rotational shifts<h3>experience</h3>5
