Role Overview
The Supply Planner plays a pivotal role in optimizing inventory levels, ensuring product availability, and driving supply chain operational excellence. By acting as the bridge between demand forecasts, suppliers, internal departments, and logistics operations, you will translate strategic demand plans into efficient purchase and inventory execution.
Key Responsibilities
Supply Planning & Inventory Management
Translate sales/demand forecasts into viable purchase and inventory strategies.
Validate Supply Value Plans and Demand-over-Capacity models alongside Demand Analysts.
Monitor stock targets, analyze Inventory Quality Reports (IQR), and redistribute excess stock across regional warehouses.
Identify slow or non-moving inventory and implement corrective actions (e.g., repacking, promotions, disposition).
Analyze customer availability metrics, track Customer Fill Rates, and perform root-cause analyses on missed lines (NNA).
Vendor & Purchase Order Management
Issue purchase orders (ZPOD) and execution plans to suppliers based on MRP parameters.
Monitor vendor spend, expedite outstanding orders, and publish weekly vendor priority lists.
Track Vendor Shipping Performance, past-due orders, and perform regular order book cleanups and vendor reconciliations.
Resolve blocked vendor invoices (Unipay) and troubleshoot EDI transmission errors.
Cross-Functional & S&OP Coordination
Organize and lead monthly Collaborative Supply Operation Planning (CSOP) meetings with internal teams and external vendors; maintain detailed follow-up actions.
Partner with Product Marketing on New Product Introductions (NPI/GRE), ensuring timely initial ordering and availability tracking.
Communicate potential supply disruptions directly to the Demand Planning and Customer Service teams.
Assist Purchasing and Product teams with critical constraint parts and special inventory sourcing (YN parts).
Master Data & Process Optimization
Maintain accurate material master data within SAP, optimizing order parameters such as MOQs, Reorder Values (RV), pack sizes, and pallet constraints.
Collaborate with Distribution Center (DC) staff and vendors to implement Lean Supply programs.
Drive continuous improvement across supply planning processes to boost efficiency and accuracy.
Key Interfaces
Internal: Supply Chain, Manufacturing Plants, Product Management, Marketing, Purchasing, Pricing, Logistics, Finance, and Leadership.
External: Tier-1 and Tier-2 Suppliers, Third-Party Logistics Providers.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain, or Engineering required (Master's degree in Engineering, Applied Economics, or related field preferred).
Experience: 1+ years of experience in supply chain, material control, or inventory planning (2+ years in inventory management within an automotive or manufacturing environment preferred).
Technical Skills:
Proficient in SAP (specifically MRP logic and material master data management).
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, complex formulas, data modeling).
Familiarity with Power BI visualization tools is a strong plus.
Languages: Fluent in English (additional languages are a plus).
