The Consulate General of Sweden in Mumbai is looking for Accounts Assistant

  • Responsible for the overall finance function, including cash management and bank transactions.
  • Responsible for procurement and purchasing of goods and services in accordance with regulations.
  • Perform ongoing bookkeeping, including:
    • Monthly financial reporting to the Ministry for Foreign Affairs (UD)
    • Funds management and preparation of payment orders
    • Goods and Services Tax (GST) return filing
  • Liaison with banks and financial institutions
  • Assist the Head of Accounting with financial administration and budget follow-up.
  • Coordinate with local authorities, customs, recruitment agencies, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
  • Secondhand responsibility for the administrative assistant, including handling simple consular matters, local mail handling, visitor and program coordination and communication with the public and government authorities.
  • Any other duties as decided by the Head of Mission

Qualifications and Skills

  • Proven experience in accounting/bookkeeping and financial administration.
  • Excellent computer skills; proficiency in accounting and HR software.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Fluency in English and Hindi; knowledge of Swedish and Marathi is an asset.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Salary according to the local staff scale at the Consulate General in Mumbai.
  • Paid vacation and health insurance.
