Position Summary:
The Assistant Manager, Learning & Development supports the effective delivery of learning and development programs through training management, content design and development, training logistics, and operational coordination.
This role independently manages assigned learning activities and workstreams, partners with U.S.-based stakeholders to understand requirements and priorities, and helps ensure learning programs are delivered accurately, consistently, and on schedule.
The Assistant Manager also plays an important role in establishing and improving team processes, workflows, documentation, and handoffs. The role is expected to identify issues, recommend practical solutions, and help create efficient and scalable ways of working across training management, content development, and learning logistics. Success requires the ability to manage multiple priorities independently, build strong stakeholder relationships, solve problems, and provide hands-on support across a variety of learning and development activities.
Responsibilities:
Learning Operations & Training Management
* Independently manage assigned learning and development activities from intake through completion.
* Coordinate training schedules, participant communications, materials, facilitator needs, and other logistical requirements.
* Support training administration and program management activities to ensure consistent and timely delivery.
* Maintain program documentation, trackers, schedules, and related operational information.
* Monitor assigned deliverables, identify risks or delays, and escalate issues when appropriate.
* Provide hands-on support across learning operations and training logistics based on business needs.
Learning Content & Design
* Develop, update, and maintain learning materials in partnership with Talent Management and Leadership Development stakeholders.
* Translate stakeholder requirements into clear, effective learning deliverables.
* Support the creation of presentations, facilitator materials, participant resources, job aids, and other learning content.
* Apply established standards and quality expectations to learning materials.
* Coordinate content reviews, incorporate feedback, and manage revisions through completion.
* Maintain organized and current learning content and documentation.
Process & Operational Improvement
* Support the development and implementation of standardized processes, workflows, handoffs, and operating procedures.
* Identify opportunities to simplify or streamline recurring learning activities.
* Recommend improvements that increase efficiency, quality, consistency, or stakeholder experience.
* Document processes and maintain standard operating procedures for assigned work.
* Support implementation of new tools, automation, or process enhancements.
* Help establish repeatable and scalable ways of working across the Learning & Development team.
Stakeholder & Team Partnership
* Partner with U.S.-based Talent Management, Leadership Development, and other stakeholders to understand learning needs, priorities, timelines, and expectations.
* Provide clear and timely updates regarding work status, dependencies, risks, and deliverables.
* Build effective working relationships across functions, geographies, and time zones.
* Coordinate closely with other India-based team members to ensure effective handoffs and integrated delivery.
* Serve as a knowledgeable resource to colleagues on assigned processes, programs, or workstreams.
* Support the Sr. Manager, Engagement & Development with operational priorities, special projects, and issue resolution.
Quality & Performance
* Monitor the accuracy, timeliness, and quality of assigned deliverables.
* Maintain strong attention to detail across learning materials, communications, scheduling, and program administration.
* Use available data, feedback, and operational observations to identify opportunities for improvement.
* Contribute to team service expectations and performance measures.
* Demonstrate accountability for assigned work and follow through consistently on commitments.
Education & Experience:
* Bachelor's degree in Learning & Development, Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business, Education, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
* Typically 7+ years of relevant experience in Learning & Development, training operations, instructional design, shared services, or a related function.
* Experience supporting or managing learning programs, training operations, content development, and/or training logistics.
* Demonstrated experience coordinating multiple projects or workstreams with competing priorities and deadlines.
* Experience improving processes, documenting workflows, or establishing more efficient ways of working.
* Experience partnering with stakeholders across functions and organizational levels.
* Experience working with U.S.-based or global teams across time zones.
* Experience in an India-based Global Capability Center, shared-services environment, or similar global operating model preferred.
