We are currently seeking a highly qualified and professional Safety Supervisor to join our operations in Jamshedpur. This contract position is pivotal for maintaining rigorous safety standards within our heavy steel manufacturing environment. Responsibilities:- Provide expert oversight and supervision of site safety protocols to ensure full compliance with industrial safety standards.
- Conduct regular safety audits and hazard assessments across the production floor and high-risk zones.
- Implement and monitor industrial safety strategies, specifically focusing on the prevention of workplace incidents.
- Ensure that all operational activities adhere to the standards set forth by the Post Diploma in Industrial Safety (PDIS) guidelines.
- Lead safety briefings, tool-box talks, and emergency response training sessions for staff and contractors.
- Analyze safety metrics and performance indicators to develop proactive mitigation strategies for current and future project phases.
- Coordinate with department heads to integrate safety-first practices into daily steel processing workflows.
- Manage incident reporting, investigation, and root cause analysis to prevent the recurrence of safety deviations.
- Bachelor's degree (B.E./B.Tech) in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
- Mandatory certification: Post Diploma in Industrial Safety (PDIS).
- Minimum of 7 years and up to 20 years of verifiable experience within the steel or heavy manufacturing industry.
- Deep technical understanding of occupational hazards, fire safety, and machine guarding in steel plants.
- Proven ability to interpret and enforce complex legal and regulatory safety requirements.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to maintain a professional, authoritative presence in high-pressure industrial environments.
