Job Description: Head - Planning (Multi-Plant)
Role Purpose
Lead end-to-end planning across two manufacturing plants to
ensure demand-supply alignment, optimal inventory, and on-time delivery,
while driving integrated planning processes like S&OP / SIOP.

Own and drive the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) / Sales, Inventory; Operations Planning (SIOP) cycle Conduct:
Demand reviewSupply review
Pre-S&OP & Executive S&OP meetings
Align Sales, Production, Procurement, and Finance on one plan
Highlight risks (capacity, inventory, service levels) and drive decisions
2. Demand & Supply Planning
Validate and challenge demand forecasts with Sales/Marketing
Convert demand into feasible production plans across both plants
Optimize:
Capacity utilization
Inventory levels (RM, WIP, FG)
Lead times 3. Multi-Plant Planning Coordination
Decide which plant produces what (load balancing)
Optimize cost vs service trade-offs between plants
Manage inter-plant dependencies and constraints
4. Production Planning & Control (PPC Oversight)
Guide plant PPC teams on:
Monthly / weekly production plans
Material planning (MRP)Ensure adherence to plan vs actual
5. Daily / Weekly Performance Monitoring
Track key KPIs:
OTDC
OTIF (On Time In Full)
Plan adherence
Inventory turns
Capacity utilization
Run daily review calls with both plants
Resolve bottlenecks quickly (materials, manpower, machine issues)
6. Inventory Management
Define DIO and achieve it.
Optimum inventory level.
Avoid:Excess & obsolete inventory
Stock-outs 7. Cross-Functional Coordination
Work closely with:
Sales (demand inputs)
Procurement (material availability)
Production (execution)
Finance (working capital impact)
8. System & Process Improvement
Strengthen ERP/MRP usage (SAP)
Drive digitization, dashboards, and planning tools
Improve forecast accuracy and planning cycle efficiency 9. Team Leadership
Lead planning teams in both plants
Build capability in:Forecasting
Scheduling
Data analysis Key KPIs
Forecast Accuracy (%)
OTIF / Service Level agreement (SLA)
Inventory Turns / DIO/Working Capital
