Position: Assistant General Manager / Deputy General Manager Logistics (Domestic & EXIM)
Reports To: Vice President Procurement & Supply Chain

Role Purpose:
The Assistant General Manager / Deputy General Manager Logistics holds end-to-end ownership of the Company's domestic and EXIM (export-import) logistics operations. The incumbent shall lead the logistics team in managing all domestic inbound and outbound movement of materials, while independently directing EXIM logistics to ensure selection of the most suitable route and mode of shipment, complete and accurate
documentation, and optimal realisation of export incentive and duty benefit schemes. The role carries equal accountability for building and continuously strengthening the SOPs, systems and processes that govern the logistics function across the Company.
Key Responsibilities:
- Domestic Logistics Management: Shall hold complete ownership, through the logistics team, of all domestic inbound and outbound logistics activities, including transportation planning, vendor selection and freight negotiation, dispatch and delivery scheduling, e-way bill compliance, and coordination with plants and warehouses across locations. Shall be accountable for vendor performance, on-time delivery, freight cost control, and timely resolution of transit, damage and delivery-related issues.
- EXIM Logistics Management: Shall independently determine the optimal logistics route, mode and carrier for each import and export shipment based on cost, transit time and criticality, and shall own end-to-end execution of inbound and outbound EXIM logistics, including customs clearance, CHA coordination, and shipment tracking. Shall maintain complete and accurate command over EXIM documentation, including invoices, packing lists, bills of lading/airway bills, bills of entry, shipping bills and certificates of origin, ensuring full compliance with customs and DGFT requirements.
- Export Incentive & Licence Management: Shall be responsible for identifying, availing and maintaining all applicable export benefit and duty concession schemes, including RoDTEP, EPCG and Advance Authorisation, and shall ensure timely fulfilment of associated export obligations, licence renewals and regulatory filings Shall coordinate with Finance and Accounts for accurate accounting of incentive receivables and with DGFT/Customs authorities for scheme-related approvals and audits.
- SOP & Process Improvement: Shall proactively develop, document and implement Standard Operating Procedures and systems to strengthen the reliability, efficiency and cost-effectiveness of both domestic and EXIM logistics operations, and shall drive periodic review and upgradation of these processes.
- Team & Vendor Leadership: Shall lead, guide and build capability within the logistics team, and shall manage relationships with transporters, CHAs, freight forwarders, shipping lines and other logistics service providers to secure competitive terms and dependable service levels.
- Regulatory & Statutory Coordination: Shall maintain active liaison with Customs, Port and Airport Authorities, DGFT, EEPC, FIEO and other relevant government and trade bodies, so as to ensure uninterrupted compliance and timely resolution of any regulatory matters.
- Cost & Performance Governance: Shall be accountable for overall logistics cost, turnaround time and service quality across domestic and EXIM operations, and shall report performance, risks and improvement initiatives to the Vice President Procurement & Supply Chain on a regular basis.
