Job Summary: Plant Officer/Supervisor
This role is a production-focused position reporting to the Production Officer. It requires a candidate with a chemical engineering background and 2-4 years of experience in the chemical or related industries. The primary focus is on ensuring a safe, efficient, and productive manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities (KRA's)
Safety: You are responsible for maintaining and improving safety standards within the plant. This includes learning and implementing new safety initiatives.
Production: Your core responsibilities involve understanding and executing production plans. This includes operating equipment like blenders and pumps, monitoring the process, and completing batch sheets and other production logs. You will need to communicate with your supervisor about production progress and requirements.
Operations & Logistics: You will be responsible for handling the ERP system to monitor and track the consumption and inventory of raw materials (RM), packaging materials (PM), and finished goods (FG) on the shop floor.
Team & Communication: A key part of the job is people management. You'll need to develop skills to handle the team, ensuring a safe and clean working environment while maintaining product quality. The role also requires you to coordinate with other departments, such as maintenance and quality control (QC).
Improvement Initiatives: You will be expected to identify and implement initiatives aimed at improving productivity and reducing utility consumption.
Desired Candidate Profile
Education: A Diploma in Chemical Engineering is required.
Experience: You should have between 2 to 4 years of experience, preferably within the Chemical, Construction Chemicals, Specialty Chemicals, Polymer, or Paints industries.
Skills: The ideal candidate is a confident, self-motivated, and proactive individual with good communication and interpersonal skills. You should also be energetic, hardworking, and possess strong analytical and team-building abilities. Computer knowledge is essential.
