This is not a maintenance hire. We are building a techno-production PTFE capability-someone who owns both the production floor and the product knowledge that connects manufacturing to the market. Here is what you will own in your first year:
- Bridge the Knowledge Gap: We currently lack deep, domain-specific PTFE moulding expertise in-house.
You will be the go-to technical authority for PTFE compression moulding-bringing process know-how, defect diagnosis, material science understanding, and awareness of contemporary industry technology that we need to build internally.
- Modernise Processes to Contemporary Standards: Our processes need to be benchmarked against current industry standards and best-in-class technology.
You will audit existing workflows, identify gaps against the latest moulding technology, tooling practices, and sintering methods, and implement improvements that bring us on par with leading PTFE manufacturers.
- Automatic + Manual Moulding Setup: We are investing in automatic compression moulding alongside our manual presses.
You will lead the commissioning, parameter standardisation, and production ramp-up for both automatic and manual compression moulding lines.
- Build Product-Market Intelligence: This is what makes the role techno-production. We need someone who understands not just how to make PTFE products, but which products serve which customers, which industries demand what specifications, and how our production capability translates into market offerings.
You will map our PTFE product range to customer applications, end-use industries, and market requirements-building go-to-market knowledge that connects the shop floor to commercial outcomes.
- Updated Testing Standards Compliance: Ensure our products are tested and certified to the latest applicable standards (ASTM, IS, DIN, EN, etc.) for PTFE products.
You will bring awareness of current testing standards as per industry norms, identify gaps in our existing testing protocols, and ensure our quality documentation and test reports align with what customers and export markets expect.
- Drive Quality & Productivity Gains: Reduce scrap, improve first-pass yield, tighten dimensional consistency, and bring cycle times in line with industry benchmarks.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Production & Process Management
- Manage day-to-day production of PTFE compression-moulded components: rods, sheets, billets, rings, and custom profiles.
- Set up, control, and optimise parameters for both automatic and manual compression moulding presses, sintering ovens, and post-processing operations.
- Monitor and control cycle times, moulding pressures, sintering temperatures, and dimensional outcomes to ensure consistent output.
- Ensure adherence to production schedules, output targets, and yield requirements.
Process Optimisation & Continuous Improvement
- Identify and implement improvements to reduce cycle time, scrap, and rework across both automatic and manual lines.
- Provide tooling optimisation inputs, mould design feedback, and machining allowance standardisation.
- Implement best practices for material handling, preforming, sintering, and cooling.
- Drive capacity planning and productivity improvement initiatives.
Product-Application Mapping & Go-to-Market Support
- Build and maintain a product-application knowledge base: map PTFE product variants (grades, fillers, dimensions) to customer applications, end-use industries, and performance requirements.
- Provide technical inputs to Sales on product feasibility, material selection, and application suitability for customer enquiries.
- Support go-to-market efforts by translating production capability into commercially relevant product specifications and datasheets.
- Participate in customer technical discussions, audits, and new product introduction trials.
Quality, Testing Standards & Documentation
- Ensure products meet drawing specifications, dimensional tolerances, and material standards.
- Maintain awareness of and compliance with updated testing standards applicable to PTFE products (ASTM, IS, EN, DIN) as per current industry norms.
- Ensure test reports, material certifications, and quality documentation align with customer and export market expectations.
- Coordinate with Quality teams on inspections, non-conformances, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
- Maintain and improve process documentation, work instructions, and control plans.
- Support internal audits and customer quality requirements.
Digital & AI-Enabled Working
- Use AI tools for process analysis, documentation drafting, root cause brainstorming, and productivity tracking.
- Leverage Excel, ERP, and digital dashboards for production reporting and analysis.
- Continuously upgrade skills in digital manufacturing and AI-based productivity tools.
WHO YOU ARE
