Responsibilities – Duties, projects, tasks, and activities Sourcing Specialist will be responsible for in this role
Conduct spend analysis, maintain reports, and perform research to support category plans, identifying opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
Manage and optimize tail spend procurement, identifying opportunities for cost reduction, process improvement, and consolidation of suppliers.
Collaborate with the procurement and sourcing teams to implement best practices, tools, and strategies that enhance tail spend control and visibility.
Streamline the procurement process through automation, standardization, and use of digital tools (SAP Ariba)
Liaise with internal stakeholders like Regional Sourcing managers and Requisitioners to understand purchasing needs and ensure alignment of tail spend management with broader procurement strategies.
Support the roll-out of tail spend management strategies across business units, ensuring alignment with overall procurement and sourcing objectives.
Develop Request for Proposal (RFP) documents, coordinate supplier Requests for Information (RFIs), analyze supplier responses, and facilitate negotiations and selection processes.
Pre-qualify suppliers and evaluate vendor quotations using effective negotiation and purchasing analysis techniques
Enhance the purchasing experience for end customers by suggesting enhancements to catalogs
Ensure the procurement of goods and services in tail spend categories meets company quality, compliance, and cost expectations
Manage and consolidate supplier base, promoting supplier rationalization and reduction of rogue spending.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
3-5 years of experience in sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management, with a strong focus on indirect categories and tail spend.
Familiarity with Source-to-Pay (S2P) processes, procurement tools, and tail spend management strategies.
Proficiency in Microsoft office (MS Word, Power Point, Microsoft Excel etc)
Hands on experience of procurement systems (e.g., SAP Ariba), ERP systems is a plus
Strong negotiation, communication, and supplier management skills.
Preferred Skills
Exposure to Chemical Industry or other manufacturing companies
Experience working in a Centre of Excellence or cross-functional procurement team is an advantage.
