Execute treasury transactions in accordance with approved limits,
internal policies, and applicable regulatory requirements.
Monitor market conditions, interest rate movements, exchange rate
trends, and liquidity developments to support treasury decision-making.
Maintain and develop relationships with banks, financial institutions,
brokers, and other treasury counterparties.
Support the development of treasury products and business
opportunities in line with the Bank's risk appetite and regulatory
framework.
Liquidity, ALM & Balance Sheet Management
Monitor the branch's daily liquidity position and funding gap to ensure
sufficient cash flow and operational stability.
Assist in asset-liability management, including interest rate risk,
liquidity risk, and maturity mismatch monitoring.
Prepare treasury-related reports for management review, Head Office
reporting, and regulatory submission, where applicable.
Support internal discussions on funding strategy, pricing, deposit-
taking, interbank borrowing, and balance sheet utilization.
Ensure compliance with applicable Indian banking regulations and
internal policies, including AML and KYC requirements
Regulatory Compliance & Risk Control
Assist the establishment of the Mumbai Branch Treasury function,
including treasury policies, procedures, operating manuals, and control
frameworks.
Develop and implement treasury governance, dealing authorities, risk
limits, and operating workflows in compliance with Head Office
policies, RBI requirements, and other applicable regulations in India.
Continuously review and enhance treasury policies and controls to
support business growth, regulatory compliance, and effective risk
management.
Monitor and control treasury exposures, including counterparty risk,
market risk, liquidity risk, and settlement risk. Ensure all treasury
transactions are properly approved, documented, recorded, and
reported.
Treasury Operations & Settlement Coordination
Coordinate with the Operations team to ensure timely and accurate
confirmation, settlement, reconciliation, and documentation of treasury
transactions.
Review treasury transaction details to ensure accuracy of trade capture,
rate, value date, counterparty information, and settlement instructions.
Support the enhancement of treasury operating procedures and maker-
checker control mechanisms. Follow up on outstanding confirmations,
failed settlements, discrepancies, and nostro-related issues.
Assist in system testing, process improvement, and implementation of
treasury-related controls.
Other Responsibilities
Support branch management in establishing and strengthening the
treasury function of the Mumbai Branch.
Participate in new product assessment, system enhancement, policy
review, and regulatory implementation projects.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.Qualifications* Minimum 8 years of banking experience, preferably with solid
experience in treasury, financial markets, foreign exchange, money
market, liquidity management, or ALM.
* Experience working at a foreign bank in India, such as Japanese,
Korean, Taiwanese, or other international banks, is highly desirable.
* Deep understanding of Indian banking regulations applicable to
foreign banks, including treasury-related regulatory requirements.
* Good knowledge of RBI regulations, FEMA requirements, interbank
market practices, liquidity risk management, and treasury control
standards.
* Familiar with foreign exchange, money market instruments,
interbank placements, interest rate products, and treasury settlement
processes.
* Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret market information,
regulatory requirements, and liquidity data.
* Good communication and coordination skills, with the ability to
work closely with Head Office, branch management, operations,
compliance, risk management, and external counterparties.
* Proficient in English. Bilingual proficiency in English and Mandarin,
both oral and written, is a plus.
