- Bid Management & Proposals:
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities in defence projects. Leading the entire tender process, from analyzing RFPs/RFQs to submitting proposals, and executing complex contracts.
- Manage sales pipeline, contract negotiations, and compliance with MIL standards, AS9100 and defence procurement guidelines (DAP/DPP)
- Develop capture plans, bid strategies, and competitive proposals coordinating with engineering, finance, and legal teams.
- Exhibit effective project coordination and liaison with key stakeholders.
- Achieve revenue targets through high-value contracts in aerospace/defence technologies.
- Customer Engagement & Relationship Management:
- Build and nurture relationships with key stakeholders including IAF, DRDO, DPSUs, armed forces, and private OEMs.
- Represent at air shows, exhibitions, and forums; prepare presentations and capability statements.
- Market Intelligence & Growth:
- Track market trends, competitor activities, and policy changes in defence procurement and offset policies.
- Strategic Partnerships:
- Facilitating Joint Ventures (JVs) and Technology Transfer (ToT) agreements with foreign partners to enhance indigenous capabilities.
- Support the enhancement and strengthening of LMW’s defence strategy.
Qualifications & Experience
- BE/B.Tech/ME/M.Tech in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electronics & Communication, or related field; MBA preferred.
- 8-15+ years in business development/sales within Defence Projects and Aerospace Defence (mandatory expertise).
- Proven track record with IAF procurement, DRDO/HAL/BEL projects, or armed forces background highly preferred.
- Strong grasp of defence acquisition cycles, government contracting, and embedded systems sales.
Required Skills
- Excellent negotiation, communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Technical knowledge of aerospace systems, CNC machining, electromechanical assemblies, and quality certifications.
- Self-motivated with networking prowess and ability to handle complex projects cross-functionally.
- Familiarity with Indian defence ecosystem and emerging technologies.
Preferred Attributes
- Experience in PSUs/government accounts and bid management.
- Air Force/defence OEM exposure.
