Job Description: Head - Spare Parts (JCB Construction Equipment) Location: Hyderabad, Telangana Reporting To: Managing Director/JCB Product Support Head Job Summary:The Head of Spare Parts will be responsible for the strategic planning, management, and overall profitability of the spare parts division across all dealer locations. This leadership role involves optimizing inventory management, driving parts sales, ensuring customer satisfaction, and managing the parts team to support the service and equipment sales operations for the entire JCB construction equipment range (Backhoe Loaders, Excavators, Compactors, Telehandlers, etc.). Key Responsibilities: 1. Strategic & Financial Management:* Develop and execute a comprehensive spare parts business strategy to achieve volume and value sales targets for the dealership.* Monitor, analyse, and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) like Inventory Turnover Ratio (ITR), Stock Availability, obsolescence, and parts sales growth.* Prepare and manage the annual budget for the parts department, controlling costs and maximizing gross margins to ensure high profitability.* Implement pricing and discount strategies in line with JCB's guidelines and local market competition. 2. Inventory & Logistics Management (Multi-Location):* Oversee the entire parts supply chain, including demand forecasting (seasonal/project-based), ordering from JCB, receiving, and secure storage.* Strategically manage and optimize inventory levels across the central warehouse in Hyderabad and all branch/site locations to ensure high First-Time Pick Rate (FTPR) for fast-moving parts.* Implement robust perpetual inventory counting systems and conduct periodic physical inventory audits to ensure 100% accuracy.* Develop efficient internal logistics to ensure timely parts transfer and dispatch to meet service workshop and on-site customer needs. 3. Sales & Customer Service Excellence:* Drive both over-the-counter and field parts sales initiatives, working closely with the service and field sales teams.* Develop and manage key customer accounts (fleet owners, large contractors) to secure long-term parts supply contracts.* Ensure exceptional customer service by addressing parts inquiries, resolving issues, and managing accurate invoicing.* Oversee the smooth processing and settlement of parts-related warranty claims with the OEM (JCB). 4. Team Leadership & Development:* Lead, mentor, and train the multi-location spare parts team (Parts Managers, Executives, Storekeepers) on product knowledge, inventory control best practices, and customer relationship management.* Set clear sales and operational targets for the team and conduct regular performance reviews. 5. Process, System & Compliance:* Ensure all parts operations comply with JCB's global and local standard operating procedures (SOPs) and quality requirements. * Champion the effective utilization and accurate data entry in the Dealer Management System (DMS)/ERP for all parts transactions, stock-takes, and reporting. * Maintain a safe, clean, and organized parts storage facility in compliance with all safety and statutory regulations. Required Qualifications & Skills: Education:* Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical/Automobile/Industrial) or a related field.* A post-graduate qualification (e.g., MBA in Supply Chain/Operations) is highly desirable. Experience:* Minimum 20+ years of progressive experience in Spare Parts Management, with at least 3-5 years in a senior leadership role (Head) for a multi-location dealership or OEM. * Mandatory experience in the Construction Equipment, Earthmoving Machinery, Heavy Commercial Vehicles, or Automobile industry, with a preference for experience with premium/global brands like JCB.* Demonstrated experience in managing an annual parts turnover of a significant scale.
