sealing product range. Here is what you will own in your first year:
* Bridge the Knowledge Gap: We currently lack in-house depth across the full spectrum of soft
sealing products.

You will be the go-to technical authority for braided gland packings, graphite seals, graphite gaskets,
pressure seal gaskets, and soft sealing products-bringing process know-how, material science
understanding, and application expertise that we need to build internally.
* Modernise to Contemporary Standards: Our processes need to be benchmarked against the
latest industry technology and methods.
You will audit existing workflows across braiding, graphite processing, gasket fabrication, and finishing
operations. You will identify gaps against current best practices and implement improvements that bring
us on par with leading sealing solution manufacturers.
* Build Product-Market Intelligence: We need someone who understands not just how to make
these products, but which products serve which customers, which industries demand what
specifications, and how our production capability translates into market offerings.
You will map our soft sealing product range to customer applications, end-use industries (valves, pumps,
chemical processing, oil & gas, power, pharma), and market requirements-connecting the shop floor to
commercial outcomes.
* Updated Testing Standards Compliance: Ensure our products are tested and documented to
the latest applicable standards (ASTM, IS, EN, DIN) as per current industry norms.
You will bring awareness of current testing standards, identify gaps in our existing testing protocols, and
ensure our quality documentation and test reports align with what customers and export markets expect.* Drive Quality & Productivity Gains: Reduce scrap, improve first-pass yield, tighten consistency
across product families, and bring quality and throughput in line with industry benchmarks.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Production & Process Engineering
* Manage and optimise production of braided gland packings across constructions: PTFE, graphite,
aramid, carbon, and hybrid types.
* Own process control for graphite seal manufacturing, graphite gasket fabrication, pressure seal
gaskets, and soft sealing products.
* Define and control braiding parameters, yarn selection, impregnation, lubrication, and finishing
processes for braided packings.
* Ensure consistency in density, cross-section, lubrication levels, and dimensional tolerances
across all product families.
* Support tooling, braiding machine setup, die selection, and process optimisation for graphite and
gasket lines.
Application Engineering & Product Knowledge
* Evaluate product performance based on pressure, temperature, speed, and media compatibility
across the full soft sealing range.
* Support application selection for valve stem sealing, pump shaft sealing, rotary/reciprocating
equipment, and flange sealing applications.
* Build and maintain a product-application knowledge base: map product variants (braided
packings, graphite seals, graphite gaskets, pressure seal gaskets, soft sealings) to customer
applications, end-use industries, and performance requirements.
* Provide technical inputs to Sales on product feasibility, material selection, and application
suitability for customer enquiries.
* Support go-to-market efforts by translating production capability into commercially relevant
product specifications and datasheets.
Testing, Quality & Standards Compliance
* Support internal and third-party testing including fugitive emission testing (API 622, API 624, ISO
15848), endurance testing, and performance validation.
* Maintain awareness of and compliance with updated testing standards applicable to sealing
products (ASTM, IS, EN, DIN) as per current industry norms.
* Ensure test reports, material certifications, and quality documentation align with customer and
export market expectations.
* Support root cause analysis and corrective actions for internal defects and customer complaints.
* Maintain technical documentation, specifications, work instructions, and control plans.
* Support internal audits, customer audits, and qualification programs.
Process Optimisation & Continuous Improvement
* Identify and implement improvements to reduce cycle time, scrap, and rework across braiding,
graphite processing, and gasket fabrication lines.
* Support tooling optimisation, die design feedback, and machining allowance standardisation
across product families.
* Implement best practices for material handling, yarn preparation, impregnation, lubrication, and
finishing operations.* Drive capacity planning and productivity improvement initiatives.
* Troubleshoot field issues including leakage, wear, extrusion, shaft/stem damage, and premature
failure across all soft sealing product types.
Cross-Functional & Customer Coordination
* Work closely with Sales, Production, Quality, and R&D teams for product approvals and issue
resolution.
* Provide technical inputs during customer discussions, trials, and audits.
* Support new product development, cost reduction, and performance improvement initiatives.
* Participate in customer technical discussions and support customer visits and audits.
Digital & AI-Enabled Working
* Use AI tools for test data analysis, documentation drafting, root cause brainstorming, and
productivity tracking.
* Leverage Excel, ERP, and digital dashboards for production reporting and analysis.
* Continuously upgrade skills in digital manufacturing and AI-based productivity tools.
WHO YOU ARE
Technical Qualifications (Must-Have)
* 5-8 years of hands-on experience in braided gland packing manufacturing, application
engineering, or soft sealing product manufacturing.
* Strong understanding of braiding constructions, yarn types (PTFE, graphite, aramid, carbon),
lubricants, inhibitors, and performance trade-offs.
* Working knowledge of graphite seal manufacturing, graphite gasket fabrication, pressure seal
gaskets, and soft sealing products.
* Familiarity with valve and pump sealing applications and the performance demands of critical
industrial environments.
* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, process specifications, and quality standards.
Product & Market Knowledge (Highly Valued)
* Understanding of soft sealing product applications across industries: oil & gas, chemical
processing, power generation, pharma, water treatment, pulp & paper.
* Ability to connect product specifications to customer requirements and end-use performance
needs across braided packings, graphite seals, graphite gaskets, pressure seal gaskets, and soft
