Key Responsibilities:
* Manage end-to-end payroll processing including variable pay, allowances, and regular cycles

* Respond to employee payroll queries and provide resolution within defined SLAs
* Generate payroll reports, dashboards, and analytics for HR, Finance, and leadership
* Process leaves requests, return-to-work checklists, and monitor active leave dates
* Set up payroll parameters for new hires and ensure accurate onboarding data
* Manage garnishments, wage attachments, tax declarations, and statutory deductions
* Oversee time capture, biometric/time-sheet validation, and integration checks
* Ensure adherence to legal, tax, and compliance requirements across all payroll activities
Job Competencies:
* Strong understanding of payroll systems, statutory regulations, and compliance requirements
* Knowledge of US GAAP accounting standards, and US payroll standards, statutory and regulatory compliance preferred
* High attention to detail with excellent numerical and analytical ability
* Proficiency in payroll software (Workday, ADP, SAP, Oracle or similar) and Excel with ability to handle large data sets
* Ability to manage tight deadlines and multiple deliverables
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities

Experience:
* Bachelor's /Master's degree in HR, Finance, Accounting, Commerce or related field
* Professional certifications like Chartered Accountant preferred
* 7-10+ years of progressive experience in payroll operations, including multi-cycle processing
* Strong knowledge of statutory compliances, taxation, garnishments, and wage regulations
* Experience with payroll systems (Workday, ADP, SAP, Oracle or similar) and Excel with experience in managing large payroll datasets
* Proven ability to prepare payroll reconciliations, journal entries, and financial provisions
* Strong communication skills and ability to interact with employees at all levels
* Experience with time & attendance systems and integration with payroll
* Primary work from the Mumbai office
* Afternoon shift of 2pm to 11pm
* Ability to work and/or attend meetings remotely on ad hoc basis during US PST time zone as needed.
