Naval Architect develops designs of marine vessels and floating structures, such as ships, barges,
tugs, etc., and performs calculations necessary to assist in the design and fabrication of such
vessels.
Coordinates activities of ship design related to new building, conversion or repair projects to
ensure that the goals and objectives of the project are accomplished within the prescribed time
frame and funding parameters.
Independently performs work that requires conventional engineering but may also perform more
complex engineering work and technical supervision. Plans, schedules, conducts, or coordinates
detailed phases of the engineering work in a part of a major project or in a total project of
moderate scope.
