Key Responsibilities:
Academic Leadership:
o Provide visionary leadership in developing and implementing the academic vision and mission of the dental college.
o Foster an environment that promotes excellence in teaching, research, and clinical practice.
o Oversee curriculum development, ensuring it aligns with accreditation standards and stays current with advancements in the field.
Administration and Operations:
o Manage the day-to-day operations of the dental college, including budgetary oversight, resource allocation, and facilities management.
o Collaborate with department heads and faculty to optimize faculty and staff performance.
o Ensure compliance with relevant accreditation standards and regulatory requirements.
Student Affairs:
o Oversee student admissions, ensuring a fair and transparent process.
o Foster a positive and supportive learning environment for students.
o Address student concerns and grievances, working towards their resolution.
Research and Innovation:
o Encourage and support dental research initiatives within the college.
o Facilitate collaboration with external research institutions and industry partners.
o Promote a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
Community Engagement:
o Establish and maintain strong connections with the dental community, professional organizations, and stakeholders.
o Promote community outreach programs, dental health awareness, and public education initiatives.
Qualifications:
·A doctoral degree in dentistry (DDS/DMD) and preferably a postgraduate qualification (Master’s or PhD).
·Extensive experience in dental education, with a proven track record of academic leadership.
·Knowledge of accreditation standards and regulatory requirements in dental education.
·Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
